In one of his homilies, a priest friend said, "Be good even if they are not good to you!"
Oh my! What a beautiful thing to say and much better to do. But in all honesty, its one of the hardest things to do. How can one be good, if people around them isn't so.
Yes, we can try and try harder still but accomplishing that fully is really not an easy task. We are human, prone to emotions and outbursts and such. It's sad that we can't be as good as we want to be ei?
But really, how can one be good? Is it allowing people to step all over you and take advantage of all you have to offer, because, well, didn't Jesus say to turn the other cheek? But can you really just do that? Is that martyrdom in the modern times? We don't really get flogged, whipped and all that these days but it really is such a mess ain't it. Yes, and I believe my writing is too! LOL. Bear with me, I'm trying to keep it all together and give you something of a coherent post, but maybe, I'm not succeeding at that particular thing as of this moment.
But yeah... the gist of it, is that regardless of what, we should at the very least TRY to be good... Yes, even if it means we get advantaged of, from time to time, but I guess, we should always try to balance everything out. Try to weigh everything before doing anything. Sometimes, it's easier rather than harder though there are times when it's the other way around. Life is like that most of the time. It's a good balance of everything, both the good and the better. Don't you think?
