This morning (from our side of the world, that is) or last night (in others), Manny Pacquiao once more captured the attention of the world by beating Joshua Clottey, another win for the people's champ, again I'm not a boxing fan but I just love seeing my husband get all excited, geared up for watching the fight, sometimes there will even be beer bottle in hand, I remember the fight with Cotto, my hubby was so tense that he gulped a glass of beer like a glass of water, mind you my husband is not a drinker so for him to gulp beer like water is real news to me.
But not this time, Pacquiao's fight with Clottey was so uneventful that the only thing most can talk about is the "pompyang punch" Manny gave Clottey (video below), maybe because Manny was so frustrated that he can't get any decent punch in.
All in all the fight was boooorrrrrinnngggg!!!!! There wasn't any excitement, any thrill as you watch Manny throw punches while Clottey put up his arms infront of his face, no exchanging punches no backing one in the corner...
Well but for Filipinos here... all's well that ends well, Manny won (yet again) and even if many paid to watch the fight, some as high as 2k for the ppv on cable or from 300 to 500 bucks to watch in restaurants or bars, seeing Manny win, even if the fight was that lame, seems to be worth every penny.
