My daughter asked me who will I vote for in the 2016 elections, especially for the presidency...
My honest answer, I dunno... not yet anyways.
All aspirants have their own cross to bear, so to speak...
But you know what I realized??? All of them, keep on harking about the problem... poverty, lack of jobs, traffic, corruption, crime and all those blah blah...yakking about how the government hasn't done anything... but think about it? They are part of the government aren't they? They vice presidents, senators, mayors, dept secretaries.... they are all part of the governement they are attacking...
Thing is... truth is... we all know about that.. we experience it in our daily grind, we already know what the problem is... mention one problem and I'm sure a lot of people will agree and even groan with you... so what's new with that...
So who should I vote for... and why should I?
your popularity?
your sweet talk?
your track record?
Should I settle for someone who has proven that an iron hand can discipline the lot but is known to not have good manners and even boasts of being a killer (albeit, he killed "bad people") but is not known to be corrupt or should I go for the one who has also shown something was done but is a known "trapo" and you know that has amassed a ton of wealth (and whether they admit it or not, you know that it comes from unscrupulous deals) Perhaps, I should go for the neophyte who has proven nothing and doesn't have anything going except for a surname... there's another who is a veteran but has such a passive personality that you know people will just trample all over that presidency and the last is a known "dragon" which could do something.. but is sick...
so far I haven't seen a candidate really talk about what will actually be done... and if that idea is feasible for our country... whether we like it or not, some people are set in their ways, and it will be a challenge to change the mindset of most Filipinos...I'm not even sure it can be done.. let alone how..
if one of these candidates can show me a plan... a concrete one that can help at the very least alleviate some of the challenges that we now face, then my vote will surely count for that one...
