Ending The Quarantine

So its June 1 and the quarantine is over... The more stringent and restrictive kind that is...
The  metro has been given a reprieve and now its trying to get back on its track, hopefully it will soon with as little casualty as possible...

Most of us are still afraid of getting infected though but as we have said, we have no choice, the economy's already crashing, so there's nothing to be done, but get back on track lest we want to see our economy fail.

Adjusting to the new normal, I think it will still be a while before we can get used to this. One seat apart... No holding hands.... No touching.... All we see are each other's eyes, barely recognizing anyone, even a friend, let alone a stranger you pass by on the street.

It is so NOT FILIPINO! I mean, we are so used to smiling at each other when people's eyes meet, regardless of acquaintance. It is so easy for us to smile and give a nod, but now, even if you smile, your counterpart won't see that you actually did from inside your face mask. But it is a must since we don't want to get sick and infect our loved ones.

I pray for this pandemic to end sooner rather than later. I know God allowed this for a reason. I hope that we have learned from this, somehow. I pray that everything, all the lives lost, resources lost, time lost will have been for something in the end.
