SONA 2020 - What's in it for me?

Today, President Duterte is supposed to deliver his #SONA or State of the Nation Address, I'm not sure I want to hear it though LOL

I mean, sometimes I feel like he just babbles on and on about nothing. He spurs hatred for some people, idea and sputters expletives here and again. He refuses to see the failure of the government and passes the buck or moves on to another topic and continues to babble on. PLUS, his penchant for "being late" (and that's putting it mildly) is frustrating. You wait for his address and you're ready to fall asleep. His press conferences starts at almost 12MN, I think he lives in a different time zone. So I'm thinking will the SONA be also delivered this late?

Regardless, what will he deliver anyways? the near 100k covid cases and that the government is on top of it. "Joking" about selling a property or two of the government to fund the covid problem when he already borrowed a ton of money from foreigners?? Where did all the money go? transparency perhaps is something that's lacking... When you see so many cases, so many hospitals filled to the brim and unable to accept non-covid cases because they are already filled but the government saying there are plenty of beds? Where? Perhaps in their minds or in the future hospitals (???) they are planning on putting up!

And you know surprises me the most? Is that even with this failure, so many people still believe in the lies that are being spewed out and they will still fight you tooth and nail defending the president and the government. Even when small people get jailed, fined and penalized for breaking even the littlest guidelines and yet see big wigs, VIPs and feeling VIPs get away from breaking the largest of the guidelines. Isn't that the epitomy of hypocrisy? A government official declaring something and taking it back the next! Spinning our minds round in circles, hoping to get our minds of the present dilemma?

I'm just an ordinary citizen. I don't have a loud voice to shout out and say "foul!" or "no fair", I'm just someone who experiences the day to day grind of trying to live normally with the covid fear. I'm just another mom trying to make ends meet and hoping to continually feed and educate her kids. I'm nobody and I know my voice is small and can hardly be heard.

But I hope the Philippines, its government and citizenry will start to work towards beating this thing and set aside personal agenda so that we can all start living normally again.
